I am 85 years old, but the body is better right now than 64 years ago when Uncle Sam drafted me into the US Army.

I once weighed 254 and my blood pressure was at 204 /105. I moved to East Texas  to die. I changed my mind on June 12, 2006 and I chose to do 4 things.I call it WAFO WASL. which stands for WATER, FOOD,WALK,and SLEEP. Theses are the four keys to getting healthy and changing your life style.

Since June 12,2014  I have been walking. I mean BRISKWALKING .  I walk  20 to 45 minutes every day and work to stay under a 20 minute mile. Big Deal? You better dang well believe it. Since that day in 2006 I have walked over 32,000,000 steps and mostly at a brisk pace. So What. Well, I have not been sick. My blood pressure at last Medicare physical was 95/56 and the weight is between 143 and 145.

The food and drug industry, bureaucrats, medical industry, educators and politicians tend to make being healthy   complicated, confusing, and expensive.

 

I am am DATA" guy.

There are three kind of food-protein, carbohydrates and fats.

WAFO

Our body must have only two fuels to stay alive-  water and food.

WASL

Our body must do two things to stay alive-motion and rest. I call that walk and sleep.

Eat Smart

THIS IS BEEFITBOB WITH YOUR HEALTHY HAPPY  TIP OF THE DAY

EAT AT SEVEN TO NINE SERVINGS OF FRESH OR FRESH FROZEN FRUITS ,VEGGIES AND NUTS EVERY DAY. GRAB A HANDFUL OF YOUR FAVORITES , OR TRY SOMETHING NEW.  MY FAVORITE NUTS ARE ALMONDS, PECANS AND PEANUTS.(I KNOW THEY ARE CALLED LEGUMES). LOVE SWEET TATERS, GREEN BEANS,AND AVOCADOS.

THIS IS A PICTURE OF OUR "INSIDES". IT MUST HAVE MOTION OR WE WILL GET SEDENTARY . IN PLAIN ENGLISH WE BECOME   UNHEALTHY.

 IF YOU ARE NOT IN MOTION AT LEAST "GETTING AT IT BRISKLY" FOR A MINIMUM OF 5 OR TEN MINUTES OF PUSHING THE TICKER HARD YOU ARE SEDENTARY .  IN PLAIN ENGLISH YOU ARE SLOWLY  BECOMING UNHEALTHY.

 

 

 THIS MAGNIFICENT MACHINE MUST BE IN MOTION EVERY DAY.

 

SETTING A GOAL OF WALKING  20 TO 40 MINUTES OF BRISK WALKING EVERY DAY IS A PERFECT GOAL'

DRINK A GLASS OF WATER BEFORE EATING 

FRUITS AND RAW VEGGIES AND A BIT OF DIP IS A  GREAT STARTER 

CHECK OUT ALL THE GREAT COOKING ON THAT TABLE.

EAT SMIDGINS, TECHES, PINCHES PARTICLES AND TADS OF ALL THAT GOOD STUFF

 TELL THE "PIG OUT" GRINCH TO GET LOST.

Dan Buettner is a noted writer and a National Geographic Fellow. One of his recent articles caught my attention. He was talking about health and then shifted to talking about happiness. He said that happy people tend to smoke less,eat more healthy food,take less pills,get sick less often. wear seatbelts more often,and are more healthy.
