Fruits and Veggies

The show place is in the produce area. HOWEVER if the fruit and veggies are not in season where you live they are probable  not so fresh. There is also a possibility they have been messed with to look pretty..

Flash freezing is a way to get fresh fruits and veggies really cold really fast. They keep almost all their flavor and the good stuff that makes us healthy. In some cases it can be better than buying the fresh stuff that may have been picked too soon or been around too long before you bought it.

If at all possible I avoid the canned stuff like the plague Too much sodium, processed sugars and other bad stuff. It is a good idea to wash canned fruits and veggies in water to help reduce the sodium levels..

THE BIG FOUR

  Vince Lombardi and John Wooden were the best at their professions. We still study what they did and how they did it. Both told us to become a master of the fundamentals. Doctor Oz was asked how he was so successful in doing so many things and he said “I’ve figured out that every endeavor you do has a few vital functions. All you have to do is figure out what they are and become excellent at them.”

Here are the four vital functions to live a healthy and happy life. There two fuels we all must have and two functions we all must do, or we will die. Those are very important vital functions, so let’s call them THE BIG FOUR. Join me and become excellent at all four.

                                                                       WATER

Drink more water and less sugar drinks every day. Drink more water and hardly any sugar drinks every day. Drink more water and no sugar drinks every day.

Join me and become excellent at Vital Function Number one. Let’s call it WA.

                                                                        FOOD

Eat six or more fresh or fast frozen fruits and veggies and nuts every day, and eat or snack on them more than three times every day. The combination of lots of water and smaller helpings will become a habit and replace eating junk food and you will eat less and less every day.

Get out and walk briskly every day, working up to at least twenty to forty minutes. Keep track and aim for 10,000 steps a day.

SLEEP

Shut down every day, get in bed, practice breathing deeply and sleep no less than six and a half hours aiming for eight every day.

We are almost on the road to a transformation from a society who accepts sickness, illness, and chronic disease to a life of healthy, happy living.

     THE WAFOWASL

 One more step to go. When you have been sitting for a couple of hours, stand up. Blow out all the air using the muscles at the base of your gut, take a deep breath while running in place. Wiggle and waggle your arms and fingers, smile, laugh and yawn. Keep this up for 30 seconds. Then sit down and get back to doing what you were doing. The brain doctors will have a hissy fit of joy. They use words I can’ t say nor spell, but they are good. You will reduce your risk of Alzheimer’s, dementia, strokes, heart attacks and other bad stuff by a bunch.

I call this dance the WAFOWASL.

This is not magic, it is daily discipline. Vince Lombardi said. “The key to winning is to be brilliant at the basics.” Let us all become brilliant at being HEALTHY AND HAPPY.

 

VEGGIES VS PROTEIN DRINKS

I drink a protein smoothie early every morning. It has about 30 grams of protein.

It is fast to fix and I am out and BRISK WALKING Before 7AM.

Here is a list of great protein fruits ,veggies and animal products.

These good fruits and veggies were around before Johan Mulder invented the word PROTEIN in 1844.

SIX STEPS TO A HEALTHY NEW YEAR

People ask me what is the secret to losing 104 pounds and dropping the blood pressure from 204/105 to between 90/50 and 136/60. I am accountable only to to me and consistent in doing six simple easy to do thing every day. Here they are.

Blow out all that old dirty dingy air. Push it out. Use the mussels in the bottom of your gut. Got it all out? Fill up those lungs till they are full. Practice, practice, practice. Take all year, every day, all month, and forever. No more short breaths.

Now for number 2. Do the WAFOWASL at least three times a day. Stand up. Run in place for thirty seconds. Wiggle everything you can wiggle. Push out that dirty air with those muscles at the bottom of your gut. Get fresh air in and fill up those lungs real full. Don’t forget to smile.

The third step is easy. Drink more water and a little less sugar drinks. Now drink a bit more water and a lot less sugar drink. Finally drink more water and no sugar drinks.

Getting hungry? Eat a minimum of six fresh or fresh frozen fruits and veggies, and some nuts every day. I like almonds, pecans, and peanuts. I pass that goal by 9AM every day.

Three steps down and 10,000 to go. The goal is to walk ten thousand steps a day. I have averaged over 8000 steps starting Jun 12, 2006. That is over Nine million steps. Sounds impossible and is a great excuse not to start. I started and could walk for four minutes. Now I walk two miles most every day in less than 40 minutes nonstop. OK don’t get spooked. Start walking and keep track of the steps. The real goal is to never ever miss a day of walking. Do this simple task every day and you are a champion.

Set a time to go to sleep and do it. The health experts want us to go for seven or more hours of sleep every day.

Be accountable and know your numbers. The pros, the great ones who live a healthy life do these six simple things. It is not complicated. It is simple. Do these six things every day and you will lower the risk of just about every sickness, illness and chronic disease. The main cause of diabetes is obesity, and the main cause of obesity is eating and drinking bad stuff.

Right out of college with majors in speech and economics I had 45 days to earn a bit of money before being drafted. I worked for a great company that put me in the industrial engineering department on the night shift in a weld shop counting welds made by welders. The company needed the data.

The soldier who kept data on draftees wrote in my folder that I WAS AN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER with four years of College and a diploma.For two years I was in the office of the Quarter Master General Far East located in Tokyo Japan. This is the bunch that gets food and supplies to Armed Forces when and where it must be, based on DATA. 

The dictionary says DATA is the accumulation of facts and statistics for reference and analysis. In my case nobody ever checked the facts or analysis of me.

 

Since June 12,2006 I have walked over 28,000,000 steps and have recorded this daily data on a program called WALKERTRACKER. Today there are better ways to accumulate this data on HEALTH APP.

Our bodies need two fuels, food and water. Our bodies must do two functions, walk and sleep.

WA FO WA SL is my health and wellness war cry. I want to dismantle the sickness, illness and chronic disease industry.

It is never too late to start. I started “thinking about it” in the 1990s weighing 256 and blood pressure of 204/105. On June 12, 2006 at 75 years’ old I started using the best data available to test, use, tweak, adjust, and change my way of living. Today I am 100 pounds lighter and the blood pressure is OK.

Stan Up -Run in place while wiggling and giggling for 30 seconds.
