MY MOM AND GRANDMOTHER WERE GREAT COOKS.

BEANS HAD   PROTEIN, FIBER POTASSIUM FOLATE (FANCY WORD THAT DESCRIBES SOME KIND OF ACID) IN THEM BEFORE THE WORDS WERE INVENTED.

WHEN WE BUY BEANS IN CANS, THEY MAY HAVE BEEN ON A SHELF TOO LONG.

I DO NOT TRUST LABELS, BECAUSE THE CREATORS OF LABELS TREAT US LIKE MUSHROOMS. MUSHROOMS ARE KEPT IN THE DARK AND COVERED WITH MANURE.

READ THE INGREDIENTS. IF THERE ARE THINGS IN THAT LABEL THAT MAKE NO SENSE AND OR IF THERE ARE BUNCH OF INITIALS IT IS PROBABLY NOT GOOD FOR YOU.

NOW LET’S EAT BEANS.

EAT BEANS AND PEAS AS ADDITION TO THE SALAD, SOUPS AND SIDE DISHES. CORNBREAD, BEANS AND ONIONS IS MY FAVORITE.

BE CAREFUL WHEN BUYING CANNED BEANS. SOME SELLERS BUT TOO MUCH SODIUM AND OTHER STUFF. LOOK ON THE CAN FOR NO SALT ADDED TO THE BEANS.

IF YOU GOT TIME FOR PREPARATION, USE DRIED BEANS, WHICH NORMALLY HAVE NO ADDED INGREDIENTS.  SOAK THE BEANS OVERNIGHT OR BOIL FOR ONE HOUR BEFORE ADDING THEM TO YOU MOM'S OLD RECIPE.

STOP TREATING ME LIKE A MUSHROOM. 

MUSHROOMS ARE KEPT IN THE DARK AND COVERED WITH MANURE

On June 12, 2006 my life changed.  It was a transformation, a behavior modification. It was a big deal.

Not really. I started walking every day. At first, I went about five minutes before gasping for air and sitting on an iron bench in Cherry Creek Park.  That was 15 years ago. Here is the data of my life changes. I have not been sick one day. Before I started my every day brisk walk the blood pressure had gone up and down from a high of 204/105 and now it stays at about 120 to 135 /65 to 75. I watch it like a hawk.  My lifetime top weight was 254 and for the last four years it hangs between 145 and 153.

Here is my do not do list. No diets-no food fads- no diet pills-no sugar drinks.

Here is my DO DAILY  list .Walk briskly every day. I count steps not calories. At first it was with pencil and paper, and now on my smart watch to Walkertracker.com that has counted my steps every day since June 12 ,2006.

We humans need two fuels to keep alive, water and food.  I call that WAFO.  I have not had a sugar drink in five years. I eat seven or more fresh and fresh frozen fruits and veggies and nuts every day.

We humans must keep in motion and sleep every day, or we will be “dead Ducks” in a month or so.

We need to walk and sleep every day and my reminder is WASL.

What I do to stay Healthy? I WAFO & WASL. If I can you can.

Our Nation’s Health Agency is the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and it is known as CDC. Did you notice the word PREVENTION got left out?    The CDC and other agencies have decided that cigarettes cause cancer. Various cities and state governments charge a “Sin Tax” but they did not prevent cigarettes from being produced nor sold.

 Sugar Drinks are now being called a drug and several cities and States are charging a “Sin Tax.

I have a question. Are the food processing and food modification and drug industries in business to provide goods and services at a profit, or are they in business to make a profit by producing goods and services?

Let’s talk about a couple medical terms that you might want to remember.

Agonal means there is a negative change in the patient’s condition. BP is short for blood pressure.    NPO means the patient should not take anything by mouth.

All my Docs give me straight talk.

Watch out for JAR-GINS which are special words and expressions used by folks who think you and I are stupid and should be kept in the dark and covered with manure.

Three layers of pants and four layers of shirts and jackets 

Good pair of warm  gloves
