The experts say beans and peas are great sources of protein and fiber and a bunch of other stuff. How did people know what to eat before we invented all the fancy word to tell us more than we really want to know. Fresh and fresh frozen are a good way to get them.Many canned beans have lots of sodium   You can take them out of the can and and wash away about a third of that sodium.

Look for cans that say “No-Salt-Addes_added. or (with no other ingredients added).

Add beans and peas to salads, soups and side dishes or make them the main dish.  If you got the time,use dry beans or peas, soak them overnight and make some great meals.  Look up old recipes that Mom and Gran had.

Eating six or more fresh or fresh frozen fruits and veggies and nuts is a way to healthy happy living.
