  • DAIRY: milk(1% or skim) low fat plain yogurt (add fruit)
  • BREAD: whole grain bread , corn tortillas, English muffins
  • FRUIT: apples,apricots, bananas, berries,, pineapple, plums,grapes,, tangerines, oranges, peaches,pears, melons
  • GRAIN :barley, bran cereals,buckwheat,corn,long grain brown rice,oatmeal, popcorn,whole grain cereal, wild rice
  • PASTA: brown rice and whole grain pastas
  • ROOT VEGGIES: potatoes, sweet potatoes
  • LEGUMES:  beans, peas, peanuts.

 

Read the ingredients on the label. If there is a bunch of stuff added and the words don’t’ make sense, the odds are that the stuff is not good for you.
